Obama wanted to watch MSU-IOWA before State of the Union

Before Tuesday night's State of the Union address, instead of preparing his remarks that would ultimately be broadcast to 33.3 million people, all President Barack Obama wanted to do was watch basketball.

Specifically, the POTUS wanted to catch No. 7 Michigan State visiting No. 15 Iowa, which was easily the game of the night and airing on ESPN at that time. The Spartans would go on to beat the Hawkeyes 71-69 in overtime, presumably as Barack Obama was begging Congress to work with him in the upcoming year.

One wonders how he can circumvent Congress if he doesn't even own the remote control.
