Reports: Wayne Blackshear will miss Houston game due to concussion

Louisville's Wednesday night road game against Houston will not include the services of forward Wayne Blackshear. Multiple reports Tuesday state Blackshear will remain in Louisville after suffering a concussion.

WDRB's Eric Crawford was the first to report the story.

"We're big-time short-handed," Pitino said via text.
Without [Blackshear], the Cards will go back to a more traditional rotation with Mangok Mathiang and Stephan Van Treese at the center spot. The return of Chris Jones also gives Pitino the option of going with three guards at times.

Blackshear is averaging 9.7 points and 3.4 boards. With Chane Behanan's December departure from the team, Blackshear's production and presence has become all the more important.

Louisville, the defending national champ, is 18-4 and 7-2 in the American Athletic Conference. The team will have an eight-day break after Wednesday's tilt with the Cougars. The Cardinals were ranked 18th in the most recent Top 25 (and one).
