Toledo suspends leading scorer Justin Drummond for one game

Toledo faces Ohio on Wednesday in what will be a huge game in the Mid-American title race. And the Rockets will have to play without their leading scorer.

Junior guard Justin Drummond has been suspended for one game after being charted with DUI on Saturday night.

"Although I remain 100 percent supportive of Justin, our players are held to high standards and when they do not live up to those they face consequences," head coach Ted Kowalcyzk said in a release. "As a result, Justin will not play in Wednesday's game vs. Ohio."

Drummond, a 6-foot-4 guard, is leading the Rockets in scoring at 14.6 points -- while also chipping in 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He gets to the free-throw line at a consistent rate, and can also shoot from 3. Two weeks ago against Ohio, the former Loyola (Md.) transfer had 12 points on 4-for-11 shooting in the 95-90 loss.

Jonathan Williams will likely see more minutes in Drummond's absence.

Toledo is is 8-2 in the MAC, 20-3 overall. The Rockets got attention earlier this season for their 12-0 start.
