Polls: SMU ranked for first time in 29 years

The American Athletic Conference has five teams ranked in the top 25 this week. spots. Cincinnati is 10th, Louisville is 13th, Memphis is 20th, Connecticut is 24th, and at No. 23, for the first time since 1985, is SMU.

The Big Ten and Big 12 are the other two leagues that have boasted five teams in the AP poll this season.

Syracuse, whose 23-game win streak to start the season is the best in school history -- and ties the longest win streak in Syracuse history -- remains atop the AP poll. SU gets Pitt on the road Wednesday.
