WATCH: Stephen F. Austin extends 22-game streak on a walk-off dunk

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

This is one of the best ways possible to keep a winning streak alive in college basketball.

Off a breakaway in the closing seconds of a tie game against Northwestern State, Jacob Parker stole the ball, chased his way to the other end of the court was literally racing against time. With the clock winding down, Parker deduced he had enough speed in his stride to get him to the tin in time to flush the ball home before the buzzer.

He did. SFA won the game 70-68 because of it, and in doing so got its 22nd win in a row. The Lumberjacks are now 25-2 and 14-0 in the Southland. Parker had nine points.

The winning basket was appropriate, given SFA is second in the nation in steal percentage (24.8 percent entering the gamea).

The winning basket was also ironic, given Stephen F. Austin's penchant for not speeding up the floor. At 20.4 seconds per offensive possession entering Saturday (via KenPom.com), the Lumberjacks ranked 342nd out of 351 teams in pace with the ball.
