Louisville certainly won't lack size next season.
The Cardinals added another big man for next season, picking up a commitment from 7-foot-2 Egypt native Anas Osama Mahmoud.
The news was first reported by Jody Demling of Louisville's Scout.com site, and confirmed to CBSSports.com by multiple sources.
Mahmoud is now at West Oaks Academy (Fla.), and was one of the best remaining prospects on the board in the class of 2014. Minnesota, Florida, Georgia Tech and others were all in the mix for him.
Rick Pitino has had some trouble down low this season, especially since the dismissal of Chane Behanan. But next season will have plenty of size in the paint. In addition of Mahmoud, the Cardinals are bringing in 7-foot-2 Matz Stockman, 6-foot-10 Chinanu Onuaku and 6-foot-9 Jaylen Johnson on the inside. Louisville also has signatures from top-40 guards Quentin Snider and Shaqquan Aaron.
247Sports has Louisville class as No. 9 in the country.
