BYU guard Kyle Collinsworth done for season with torn ACL

After losing to Gonzaga on Tuesday night, BYU knew its five-day wait until Selection Sunday was going to be stressful. Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse on Wednesday.

Guard Kyle Collinsworth tore his ACL against Gonzaga and will miss the rest of the season.

Collinsworth will undergo surgery next week and is expected to return next season.

The 6-foot-6 sophomore averaged 14.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season, emerging as a matchup nightmare for most opponents due to his versatility.

His injury brings up plenty of questions for NCAA Tournament selection committee. BYU was squarely on the bubble after its loss to Gonzaga, with plenty of basketball still left to be played elsewhere. And while the committee will judge the Cougars on their entire body of work, it will also take into account Collinsworth's injury. Going forward, is BYU an NCAA Tournament-caliber team without Collinsworth?

BYU's next four days are going to be very, very long.
