ACC fans bid farewell to Maryland with funny tribute song, video

By Chip Patterson | College Football/Basketball Writer

One of the stories of this year's ACC tournament has been the evolution of the league since it's founding 61 years ago. Syracuse and Pittsburgh are making their ACC tournament debut, while Maryland closed the book on its ACC basketball chapter on Thursday after a 67-65 loss to Florida State.

Shortly after the game, Sports Channel 8 posted the following video. The tribute, from the point of view of ACC fans, reflects on the highlights and lowlights of their complicated relationship with the Terps.

Some of the most memorable lines of the song, a take-off on the Barry Manilow 1974 hit "Mandy," include: "Conferences change shape, this is the new norm, just promise when you leave you'll take all of your uniforms" and "We've got our grant of rights so they can't take F-S-U, oh Maryland"
