USF fires Stan Heath

By Jon Rothstein | CBS Sports

South Florida has fired head coach Stan Heath, a source told CBSSports.com. Heath was informed of the decision on Friday afternoon.

The school later issued a press release on the matter, which read in part, "Coach Heath's dedication to USF student-athletes and the many positives he brought to the program are appreciated."

Heath was 97-128 in six years with the Bulls and went just 12-19 this season, including 3-15 in American Athletic Conference play.

Heath advanced to one NCAA Tournament and an NIT during his tenure at South Florida, which followed a five-year stint at Arkansas.
