FAU search centered on Ohio State assistant Dave Dickerson

Florida Atlantic has centered its coaching search on Ohio State assistant Dave Dickerson, a source told CBSSports.com on Friday.

Whether Dickerson would take the job remains unclear.

Athletic director Patrick Chun spent 15 years in the Ohio State athletic department before taking the FAU job in 2012, which explains the connection to Dickerson. OSU assistant Greg Paulus has also been considered, a source said. But multiple sources told CBSSports.com that Chun would prefer to hire someone with previous head coaching experience.

Dickerson was previously the head coach at Tulane.

He spent five years there an compiled a 71-85 record.
