Kentucky F Poythress injured in postgame celebration, says he's 'fine'

By Chip Patterson | College Football/Basketball Writer

Kentucky forward Alex Poythress suffered an apparent leg injury during the Wildcats' celebration of Saturday night's 74-73 win against Wisconsin in the Final Four.

The TBS cameras caught Poythress grimacing at the bottom of the dogpile after time expired as his leg got caught under a few of his teammates. (GIF via SB Nation)

Soon after the game, reports from the locker room indicated that Poythress had suffered an injury in the celebration.

Poythress has been an unsung hero during Kentucky's magical run to the national title game. Aaron Harrison will be remembered for hitting the game-winning shots, but Poythress has come up big on the glass and become an irreplacable part of this team since Willie Cauley-Stein was injured against Louisville in the Sweet 16.

Kentucky will play UConn on Monday night, tip off is set for 9:10 p.m. ET.
