Virginia Tech transfer Trevor Thompson is heading to Ohio State, sources tell CBSSports.com.

Thompson, a 6-foot-11 center from Indianapolis, played just one season in Blacksburg. He averaged 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds, going for 15 points and six rebounds in a loss to Duke in late February.

Because of his size and three years of remaining eligibility, Thompson was one of the most sought-after transfers on the market. Indiana and Purdue were also on his list of finalists, but dozens of schools showed interest.

Thompson will sit out next season and be eligible for the 2015-16 season.
