VCU is trying to maintain its reputation as a top-25 national program. The Rams will help their cause with a new basketball facility, the renderings of which were recently released. An updated plan and price tag for this hoops house was passed in early March: $25 million is the estimate.

With that, you bet it looks mighty impressive. I've included a handful of images from the batch of sketches supplied. You can see all of them in full, and at a larger size, here.

The facility's construction begins June 2. The expectation is that it will be completed in time for VCU's preseason in the fall of 2015. It's a 60,000-square-foot premises that will have ample space for student activities outside of basketball. There will be TV and game rooms -- lounges -- in addition to meeting space.

"The complex will include practice courts and viewing decks for both the men's and women's basketball programs, as well as nearby locker rooms, strength and conditioning center, training room with a hydrotherapy room and video viewing rooms," per VCU's release.

The offices for men's and women's basketball will be located in the building, and VCU says a school Hall of Fame will be on display in the lobby. It looks to be an impressive undertaking. If the mockings come to be as we see them here, Shaka Smart's program will sit atop the A-10 in terms of facilities once everything's good to go.

One of two courts inside. The courts will have observation decks above, too.

Something you don't see at most facilities: the film room is adjacent to the court.

VCU's "HAVOC" brand will be fully on display.
