Obama sends personal note to Michigan grad Jordan Morgan

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

You spend years playing college basketball at the highest of levels, and what's the one thing you take away from graduation that competes with that?

How about a letter from the sitting President of the United States?

So how did Jordan Morgan go about receiving a note from Barack Obama?

Morgan, who recently achieved his graduate degree in manufacturing engineering, had caught Obama's attention along the way. MLive.com passed along the anecdote that Obama name-dropped Morgan in his speech while in Ann Arbor in the spring. Knowing Morgan was on his way to his master's degree, he sent along a blanket letter of appreciation to Morgan.

That's pretty cool.

The Michigan grad was a veteran presence and role player for the Wolverines the past two years. Michigan made the national title game in 2013, falling to Louisville. Morgan finished his career averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds.
