After losing its three best players from last season, Syracuse needs its newcomers and young players to contribute right off the bat.

For now, though, the Orange's best incoming freshman is still at home.

Chris McCullough took the SAT and ACT in a few weeks ago and is awaiting the results of both tests, according to the Post-Standard (Syracuse, N.Y.).

"I know I did pretty good," he told the paper. "I studied hard and had a tutor to help me."

"I'm just waiting for my score to get back. As soon as I do, I'll be in Syracuse."

McCullough, a 6-foot-9 power forward, spent most of last season at IMG Academy (Fla.) after being kicked out of Brewster Academy (N.H.) for violating school rules.

He was ranked No. 21 in the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2014, and is expected to help Syracuse overcome the losses of C.J. Fair and Jerami Grant up front. He is long and athletic, and is terrific in transition.

McCullough will be one of two incoming freshmen for coach Jim Boeheim, joining point guard Kaleb Joseph. According to the aforementioned report, Joseph is already on campus and working out with his future teammates. He is being counted on to replace Tyler Ennis at the point guard spot from day one.
