As incoming freshmen around the country began heading off to their respective schools earlier this week for summer workouts, Syracuse recruit Chris McCullough was still at home.

McCullough had been awaiting the results of his SAT and ACT that he took recently.

Now, the 6-foot-9 power forward is good to go, achieving a qualifying score. He is now on track to enroll at Syracuse for summer school next month.

“It was stressful because I thought I was going to get it back pretty early so I could go to Syracuse earlier, but I didn't get it till late,” McCullough told SNY.tv on Thursday. “I'm feeling good about it. I got it out the way now. I got a lot of weight off my shoulders so I'm good now.”

McCullough is a supremely athletic and fluid frontcourt player, able to run the court faster than most guards. He is excellent in transition, and is also a threat on the defensive end due to his shot-blocking ability. He spent most of last season at IMG Academy (Fla.) after being kicked out of Brewster Academy (N.H.) for violating school rules.

Ranked No. 21 in the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2014, McCullough needs to make an immediate impact to help Syracuse make up for the losses of C.J. Fair and Jerami Grant at the forward positions. Jim Boeheim has a variety of forwards at his disposal, but McCullough likely has the highest ceiling of the group.

Kaleb Joseph, the other incoming freshman for the Orange, is set to replace Tyler Ennis at the point guard spot. He's the only true point guard on the roster, and will get the ball from day one.

Syracuse is unranked in the early Top 25 (and one).
