Kareem Canty decommits from USF, again commits to Auburn

The latest twist in the Kareem Canty transfer saga is the strangest yet -- but it looks like it might be the final one.

Canty, who transferred from Marshall after the school fired coach Tom Herrion, is now heading to Auburn.

What makes this interesting is that Canty had committed to the Tigers after leaving Marshall, as Auburn was his first visit. Shortly after his pledge, though, he decommitted -- and later gave a commitment to South Florida and new head coach Orlando Antigua.

Canty is the second D-I transfer to commit to Auburn under new head coach Bruce Pearl, joining former New Mexico State guard K.C. Ross-Miller. Unlike Ross-Miller, though, Canty will have to sit out the upcoming season and then have three years of eligibility remaining. Auburn is also heavily involved with Niagara transfer Antoine Mason, the nation's leading returning scorer.

Canty, a 6-foot-1 guard from New York, averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 assists last season.
