Here's an entertaining but unusual inter-conference series agreement.

Xavier and Auburn will play each other twice over the next two seasons. Auburn gets the first of the two games, starting next November or December. Xavier will host in the 2015-16 season. The teams have met seven times over the years, with the X-men leading 4-3 and winners of the past four tilts between the two.

"Xavier has been a consistent Top 25 program," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. "They are talented and play an attractive style. Our fans will appreciate watching them."

Xavier went 21-13 last season and lost in the first round to N.C. State. Auburn, under Tony Barbee, went 14-16. The Tigers and Musketeers last met in December of 2008.

Xavier has carved out a decent non-con schedule, by the way. It will be revealed in full in a few weeks, but we know Chris Mack's team is also playing vs. Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast at home in addition to road games against Cincinnati and Missouri and at Cincinnati. It was previously announced that the no-longer-annual Skip Prosser Classic (Xavier vs. Wake Forest) will now indefinitely be continued, but in two-year blocks.
