Michigan State lands high-scoring West Virginia transfer Eron Harris

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Michigan State hasn't been reeling in five-star prospect after five-star prospect lately, but the Spartans landed the nation's best transfer on Monday.

Former West Virginia guard Eron Harris committed to Michigan State, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com.

The news was first reported by ESPN.com.

Harris, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, left West Virginia after his sophomore season, and will have two years of eligibility remaining at Michigan State. He will have to sit out the upcoming season.

The Spartans could certainly use his scoring ability from the mperimeter, as he averaged 17.2 points last season in Morgantown. Harris is Tom Izzo's third commitment for the 2014-15 season, joining wing Kyle Ahrens and fast-rising power forward Deyonta Davis.
