After helping lead Delaware to its first NCAA Tournament since the Mike Brey era, guard Jarvis Threatt was expected to be the favorite for CAA Player of the Year.
Instead, Threatt will be looking for a new home.
The 6-foot-2 guard was dismissed by the school on Tuesday afternoon for a violation of team rules.
Threatt had been suspended for one month back in late January for a violation of athletic department policy. However, he returned in late February and was the key player in the Fightin' Blue Hens' run to the NCAA Tournament. He was named the CAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after averaging 19.7 points and 4.3 assists in three games. Threatt then scored 14 points against Michigan State in a Round of 64 loss to Michigan State.
On the season, Threatt averaged 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists. Combined with the losses of Devon Saddler and Davon Usher, coach Monte Ross is losing more than 57.0 points per game.
