International flavor has redefined basketball over the past decade and that will continue in Thursday's 2014 NBA Draft. Check below for a complete breakdown of the top foreign prospects expected to be selected Thursday night at the Barclays Center.
Dante Exum, Australia: This 6-foot-6 guard is like a cheetah in the open floor and has an 82-inch wingspan. While Exum's position in the NBA hasn't been officially labeled, it's safe to say he has the tools to be effective at both backcourt spots. The 18-year old hasn't proven himself against elite competition, but Exum did score 16 points in 22 minutes at the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit. The Australian native is very much in the mix for the Sixers at No. 3.
Jusuf Nurkic, Bosnia: Nurkic will turn 20 years old this summer and already has the size of an NBA center at 6-11 and 280 pounds. Blessed with soft hands and craftiness around the rim, Nurkic will be a player who beats his opponents with savvy instead of athleticism. Think another Marcin Gortat if he develops and can eventually become a major piece.
Clint Capela, Switzerland: 6-11 and 222 pounds? We all can dream, right? Capela is a terrific athlete who explodes at the rim and already has a very capable dive game in pick-and-roll situations. Although he sometimes looks lost defensively when he's forced to defend for long stretches, Capela possesses the build and physique of a capable NBA big man. The big key for this foreigner? Experience. Capela needs to play more.
