Coaches vs. Cancer matchups released

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

We learned in early March that Duke, Temple, UNLV and Stanford were to play in November's Coaches vs. Cancer 2K Classic.

We now know that the event -- which has moved from Madison Square Garden to the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn -- will take place Nov. 21-22 (that's a Friday/Saturday) and will begin with Stanford-UNLV and Duke-Temple.

The winners will play each other the following night.

Tip-off each night will begin at 7 p.m. The games will be broadcast on truTV.

These four teams are the exempt semifinalists for the event; Coaches vs. Cancer will bring in many more teams for on-campus games prior to Nov. 21-22. The tournament benefits the fight against cancer, as college basketball has become synonymous with its increasing efforts to raise money to eliminate the disease. The American Cancer Society receives proceeds from the games "to support its mission to save more lives and help finish the fight against cancer."
