Fresno State makes massive get-well card for alum Paul George

By Matt Norlander | Staff Writer

Dozens, maybe hundreds, of people stopped by the Fresno State campus on Tuesday to sign what is the largest get-well card I've ever seen.

Paul George has become a fascinating NBA superstar in part because he was essentially an anonymous prospect coming into the NBA. Though he wound up going 10th overall in the 2010 draft, most college hoops fans never knew him -- because he played at a time when Fresno State was barely on TV ... and not that good.

But George has done his former school proud. And now, with the gruesome leg injury that's almost definitely put him out for the entirety of the 2014-15 NBA season, Fresno State's gone and done a great little big thing.

"Paul has meant so much to us since he has left," Fresno State athletic director Paul Ladwig says in the video above. "Every time we've called him to say could you do this for us or shoot this promo for us, Paul has been there for us. We just want him to know we're there for him."

The massive card, which is said to be close to George's height of 6 feet, 9 inches, is on its way to Indiana. The Pacers will get the card to George, who I'm sure will share his thanks -- and hopefully a photo -- whenever it arrives to him.

The men's basketball team, and others, took the time to write their regards for George on Tuesday.

(Thanks for the heads up, The Dagger)
