Class of 2015 star Skal Labissiere announces final six possibilities

Class of 2015 standout Skal Labissiere announced late Tuesday that he's now only considering Baylor, Georgetown, Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina and Tennessee.

"Thanks to all the other teams that recruited me!" tweeted Labissiere, a Haitian refugee who attends high school in Memphis but actually lives in Olive Branch, Miss.

This development is interesting because Ole Miss was omitted despite the fact that Rebels coach Andy Kennedy had made it known that Labissiere's guardian, Gerald Hamilton, could join the Ole Miss staff as a third assistant if that's what it took to secure a commitment from Labissiere, multiple sources told CBSSports.com last month. Earlier Tuesday, Kennedy went so far as to publicly suggest that he was indeed saving a spot for Hamilton.

"You guys are pretty smart," Kennedy told a group of local reporters. "You probably realize what I'm doing, if it evolves like I want it to."

Obviously, things did not evolve like Kennedy wanted them to.

247Sports ranks Labissiere 11th nationally in the Class of 2015. The 6-foot-10 forward is expected to sign a national letter of intent in November -- although, it should be noted, Labissiere told CBSSports.com last month that he might skip college and play overseas.
