LOOK: Arizona touches on its proud past with new uniforms

I gotta be clear: If you told me to look at these Arizona uniforms and ask if they were different from what the team wore last year, I couldn't be certain either way.

But they are a new model, and knowing why, it's pretty cool. The school unveiled its 2014-15 threads on Wednesday. Enjoy some Kanye in the video above as the five styles are shown off. The reason for the switch? Well, it's a major college basketball program -- uniform changes come every other year now, basically.

But Arizona's drawing inspiration off its 1996-97 title-winning team. A bit too much for five versions? Probably not; just ask the players. They seem to love the variance in the gear. Per the school's release, these uniforms give a "nod to the wildly popular uniforms that Arizona wore for roughly a decade beginning in the mid-1990's."

These are "Nike Elite Fit 2.0" unis. All sorts of fancy tech went into them, like most jerseys these days. It's getting to the point where players will basically feel like they're playing naked because of how comfortable, form-fitting, light and sweat-friendly the threads are becoming.

Check this graf: "The four-way stretch woven shorts feature laser perforations and ventilation throughout for breathability and maximum movement, as well as heat transfer color details and a fuller hemline for added mobility. Use of innovative technology has led to a 66 percent weight reduction in the shorts, as well as the ability to dry 30 percent faster than comparable shorts."

Now even I want a pair.
