Memphis makes it 55-straight against Conference USA tonight, after beating Alabama 71-60. Doneal Mack led the Tigers with 17 points, but it was Robert Dozier who was the difference maker, scoring 15 with 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals. This game will tied up throughout, but with about 4:00 left in the 2nd half, Memphis just took over. You could really tell which team had the big game experience and which was hoping for the upset. While Lawrence Kinnard had a huge game for Alabama, scoring 25 with 11 rebounds, the story of the day was the play of Robert Vaden. Vaden has a 21.0 point average this season, but went 0-17 from the field in the loss. If Vaden even had a decent game, Alabama would have been right there with Memphis until the final seconds.

Memphis turns a nail-biter into an easy win. Again, I'll comment on their big-game experience as the key factor to this game.
2nd - 1:20
A bad pass by Paul Delaney probably puts this game out of reach for Alabama. With a nine point lead this late in the game, Alabama is going to need a handful of miracles. I'm going to go back to the experience for Memphis as the key factor in this game.
2nd - 2:22
When clutch time comes around, Memphis knows how to produce. When a team has the kind of tournament experience that Memphis has, they bleed iron. Doneal mack hits a big three-pointer, putting Memphis up by eight with a win in their grasp.
2nd - 4:02
Kinnard reaches his double-double with a huge 23-10 line. Huge for most players at least. This guy has made lines like this seem like they come more often than not. The 6-8 forward is going to make an NBA team very happy someday soon.
