The Musketeers were paced tonight by by Brown's 18 points and 10 rebounds and Raymond's 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists. |

| Although St. Joe's trailed pretty much from the opening tip, the team got within one as late as 5:21 left in the first half and within five with 14:39 left in the game, but that was as close as the Hawks made it. They wind up losing in a rout despite getting 24 points and eight rebounds by Nivins. The forward went 5-for-9 from the floor and 14-for-17 from the charity stripe. |

| The final buzzer finally sounds at The Palestra in Philadelphia, signaling Xavier's 68-54 defeat of St. Joseph's. That snaps a three-game road losing streak for the Musketeers and keeps them atop the Atlantic 10 standings. The Hawks have now lost five straight to fall further back in the conference. |

| All St. Joe's can do now is foul, hoping that the Musketeers miss the free throws. Xavier is making enough of them, though, to maintain a double-digit lead. With all the stoppages in play, the game's slowed down significantly in the last couple minutes, although all that's done is to delay the inevitable St. Joe's loss and to keep the Hawks' mascot flapping those wings. |
