Glog (Live Commentary)
Final -
Tory Jackson had 17 points, while Kyle McAlarney and Luke Harangody each added 14 for Notre Dame (16-12, 7-9). The Irish came in having won four of their last five games, and needed a win to make a strong case for an NCAA tournament bid.
Final -
Jeff Adrien had 25 points and nine rebounds in his final home game, and No. 2 Connecticut held off Notre Dame 72-65 on Saturday. Hasheem Thabeet added 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocked shots for UConn (27-2, 15-2 Big East), which is assured of byes in the first and second rounds of the Big East tournament.
Final -
Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun gets victory #801 with today's 72-65 victory over a tough and gritty Notre Dame team. Huskies senior Jeff Adrien leads the way with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Hasheem Thabeet kicks in 16 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.
2nd Half -
Notre Dame will use the quick foul to keep time on the clock, not exactly bad decision as Connecticut has had their problems shooting free throws this year. They are 9 of 18 today from the charity stripe.
2nd Half -
Good thing this game is almost over as Connecticut is having players laid out on the floor all over the place. Now it's Kemba Walker's turn to get shaken up after diving for a loose ball, he gets up on his own power and heads to the bench.
