Postgame -
The Tigers shone in the second half, turning what was a slim four-point halftime lead into a comfortable margin of victory. From the break on, the team shot 52.6 percent from the floor, went 5-for-10 from 3-point range, and sealed the game with nine free throws. Carroll led the way, with the senior forward scoring 11 of his game-high 20 points in the second half. He was 7-for-13 from the field overall while adding nine rebounds and three steals.
2nd Half - 0:00
With the win tonight, Missouri earns their first Big 12 championship in school history and ensure themselves of no worse than a No. 3 seed in the tournament. The final buzzer sounds on a 73-60 victory, allowing the team to celebrate at mid-court as confetti streams down from the rafters.
2nd Half - 1:22
This has been a great run by Baylor, with three straight wins, including a stunner against top-seeded Kansas, just to reach this title game. That helped make up for a disappointing regular season, although the better balm would have been a championship and an invite to the NCAA tournament. The loss is pretty much sealed after the Tigers complete a three-point play to take a four-possession lead.
2nd Half - 2:30
As has been the trend during the tournament, the Tigers are controlling the play in the second half. They're shooting 55 percent from the field while holding the Bears to 32 percent since the break. Overall, their defense has forced 13 Baylor turnovers, leading to 20 points. The advantage is still at double digits with time running out.
2nd Half - 4:12
Baylor's comeback attempt gets rougher as Dunn and Jerrells get called for their fourth fouls in the span of seconds. That's going to limit a couple of the Bears' top scorers for the final minutes. J.T. Miller makes two free throws off one of those fouls to get the Missouri lead back out to double figures.
