| Smith fell just short with his unlucky 21, with Chism and Tatum combining for only 23 and 7 boards. Tyler went for the win from down deep, instead of racing inside and possibly not beat the buzzer. Bruce Pearl was unusually subdued throughout, but his team gave him everything they had and need to hold their heads up high. |

| This one was up in the air from the start, with the final lead change coming with under 10 seconds to go. It could have been Tyler Smith getting raised to the rafters as the last second hero, but it was just the little extra effort from Byron Eaton that made his dazzling drive the final answer. Marshall Moses delivered 16 points and game high 9 rebounds, with Obi Muonelo adding a timely 8 and 7 off the boards. |
