UCONN dominated this game from the first tip until the final second. AJ Price is making a strong case for a last first-round pick in this summer's NBA draft. He put in a game-high 27 points, 5 rounds and 8 assists. Jeff Adrien contributed an ultra efficient 23 points and 8 rebounds, putting this game well out of reach for Texas A&M. The Aggies just couldn't do anything against the Huskies. They shot a weak 3-15 from beyond the arc, which was one of my keys to the game in the preview. They needed a keep it at 50% or above to even have a chance today.
2nd - 6:12
Bryan Davis is really the only guy for Texas A&M who is having any sort of a game today. He's been able to maintain a 66% field goal percentage, while contributing 12 points, 9 rebounds 2 steals and 3 blocks. It takes more than one to win a game though. The UCONN defense is starting to relax a bit with a 24-points lead.
2nd - 11:21
Thabeet is getting a lot of rest with UCONN dominating on both ends of the court. He's only played 13 minutes today, but the Huskies haven't needed his services. Thabeet set the tone early on defensively, essentially ending the game 10 minutes into it.
2nd - 14:59
With Jerome Dyson out for the tournament, AJ Price is really getting an opportunity to show NBA scouts what he has to offer. Before the tournament he was projected to be an early 2nd round pick. If he continues to show he can run a powerful offense all by himself, he could move into the late first round.
2nd - 17:28
The Aggies come out of the locker room playing the best defense we've seen all game. They force a shot clock violation and draw an offensive foul on two consecutive possessions, and come out with an early 6-2 run to start the half. It isn't much, but it's probably one of the best runs Texas A&M has been on all game.
