Final -
T'was the best of times, t'was the worst of times for the Vols. After taking a 20 point lead in the first half, things looked bright for Tennessee. But a 53-point second half for the Buckeyes flipped the script, allowing them to advance in dramatic fashion to face Memphis in the Elite Eight.
2nd Half - 0:00
In one of the more dramatic endings of the tournament, the Buckeyes pulled off their second clutch win in a row. Conley missed the free throw, Ramar Smith took the rebound the length of the court and was able to get off a layup that sailed in the air for what seemed like an eternity before Greg Oden climbed a set of invisible steps to swat the ball out of mid air.
2nd Half - 0:06.5
Conley waited until the shot clock was under 10 seconds before he drove the lane. He drew a foul as he was laying it up to get to the line. His layup didn't fall, but he was able to hit his first free throw before Tennessee called a timeout to talk things over. Tennessee will need to score in under six seconds to at least extend the game, but they've lived off the three tonight and will likely go for the win.
2nd Half - 0:37.8
A very tough call against Ohio State will send Ramar Smith to the line. Ron Lewis blocked a shot into the stands, but was called for a blocking foul only the referee who called it saw. Almost fittingly, Smith hit just one of the two to tie the game at 84.
2nd Half - 1:18
Chism clanked the front end of a pair of free throws so hard it nearly knocked down the referee who tried to catch it. Meanwhile, Odon has been allowed to play with a blood stain on his jersey after checking with the referee. Chism hit the second and Ohio State has an 84-83 lead heading into the final 60 seconds.
