Postgame -
It was the Tyrese Rice show for BC as he scored 34 points in the first half and 46 points in the game. This total was the second most in BC's history. Rice was not able to overcome the adjustments UNC made at the half and nobody else stepped up as the team squandered a 15 point first half lead.
Postgame -
North Carolina overcomes one of the greatest first half scoring barrage by Tyrese Rice to beat Boston College 90-80. Tyler Hansbrough lead the team with 25 points and dominated under the basket. Wayne Ellington and Danny Green both had strong second halves and let the Carolina comeback in the game. UNC outscored BC 50-26 in the second half to turn a possible upset into another day at the office.
2nd - 1:42
UNC has been matching BC basket for basket in the last couple minutes to prevent the Eagles from getting back in the game. The lead has been hovering around 10 points which has been a comfortable margins for the Tar Heals.
2nd - 5:29
Rice has not been able to get his shot this half compared to early in the game. Instead of getting open for shots and having the ball passed to him, Rice has had to distribute and shoot all by himself. There is no other offense for BC other then trying to get the ball to Rice and let him do his magic.
2nd - 6:36
UNC is moving the ball very well when they are on offense. They go from pounding the ball down low with Hansbrough which has lead for open 3-pointers for Green and Ellington. The Tar Heels have outscored BC by 21 points in the half to take a 7 point lead.
