Postgame -
From Derrick Rose's jumper to open the game, the Tigers never trailed in the contest. Memphis was ahead by 13 at the break, led by as many as 20 in the second half, and made 83 percent of its free throws to keep Texas at a distance the rest of the way. Next up is a battle of No. 1 seeds when Memphis takes on UCLA for the right at the championship game.
2nd Half - 0:00
In a thoroughly dominating performance, the Tigers even have an uncharacteristically good 30-of-36 line on free throws. They came into the game shooting around 50 percent from the line. It's a final here in Houston, with Memphis defeating Texas by a score of 85-67 to advance one step closer to a national championship.
2nd Half - 2:47
Memphis is two minutes from breaking into the Final Four. The Tigers had great regular seasons end in the round of eight the past two seasons, to UCLA two seasons ago and to Ohio State last year. A win would give the Tigers another postseason matchup with the Bruins, hot off a defeat of Xavier.
2nd Half - 4:03
Memphis leads by 19, matching the largest margin of the game, when Anderson gets behind the Texas defense for an easy dunk. That might have been the easiest of many easy Memphis scores today. It's 67-48 Tigers with four to play.
2nd Half - 6:11
Augustin had 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds in Texas' 82-62 rout of Stanford on Friday, but has been held to 11 points today. His four turnovers are more than his assists (2) and rebounds (1) combined. If the Longhorns wind up losing, he should carry much of the burden of the loss, considering how Texas was looking for him to match up with the Memphis backcourt.
