Glog (Live Commentary)
Postgame -
In a month of play that featured the most blowouts in tournament history, including the two games in the Final Four, this championship game was perhaps the most closely-matched, well-played of them all. The tournament had 41 games decided by at least 10 points, but neither team tonight led by more than eight.
Postgame -
Kansas shot 53 percent from the field and dominated the paint, but needed a 3-pointer from Chalmers just before the end of regulation to force overtime. Chalmers finished with 18 points and four steals while Arthur recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Postgame -
The Tigers lost the game by making only one field goal in the final seven plus minutes of the game. They shot only 63 percent from the line, missing in an excruciating fashion four of its final five from the line in regulation.
Overtime - 0:00
Collins hits a couple of three throws to put the game away and the final seconds tick off to make it a final. Memphis is denied its first ever NCAA title, blowing an eight-point lead with 2:12 to go in regulation to lose by a final score of 75-68 in overtime. Kansas emerges as the one-seed to top all one-seeds to become the champions of the 2007-2008 college basketball season.
Overtime - 0:22
Now with its own chance to decide the game with free throws, Kansas has Chalmers sink two to make it a two-possession game. The Jayhawks follow with a good stop on defense and come down with the rebound, moments from taking the game.
