| Pittsburgh distributed the ball well with 4 players getting in double-figures. Young and Blair combined for 15 boards, which they averaged as a duo last year. Levance Fields gets the player of the game with a career-high 12 assists. He got more than than twice the total amount of Miami. This was a close game around halftime as Miami pulled within 3 points. Bramos, who scored 22 points in the last Miami game, only had 2 points. Kenny Hayes' long-range shooting did what it could to carry the Redhawks but the sharing of the rock for Pittsburgh was so good that they went 9-for-19 from downtown. The 2nd half started with a 16-to-2 run and never looked back. The Panthers handled the Hawks much better than the UCLA Bruins did. Fields and Young can create for themselves impressively. |

| Kenny Hayes draws a foul by running into a sprinting Ashton Gibbs after faking a three-point shot. Jermaine Dixon gets a hand in the passing lane on the next play and gets a driving layup. Antonio Ballard misses 2 free throws to end Miami's perfection from the line, but he redeems himself with a steal and a dunk. Miami has 9 steals, 6 more than Pittsburgh. But the steals aren't equating to anything. |

| Travon Woodall takes the point guard and makes some nice moves by flipping the ball behind the back to dribble past the half-court. No look feed to the inside and he has his first assist. Fields is on the bench but he already has a career-high 12 assists. |

| Miami isn't making an effort to get their guards in the play after pushing the ball past the half-court trap. On the other end, they double Sam Young down low and still cannot stop him from scoring and getting fouled. With Blair on the bench, he has to use his physical strength. |
