| The clock finally hits all zeros and Memphis avoids the early scare for 30 minutes of total domination. Robert Dozier and Donneal Mack led the way for the Tigers with 19 points apiece and the titanic twosome of Shawn Taggart and Ty Evans chipped in 25, 13 and 4 combined. Antonio Anderson succeeded in shutting down the hot hand of Ty Patterson, holding to 10 points and only two assists. The man with the plan was Stephen McDowell, who's 27 points on 10-20 shooting kept the Mocs in contention for at least a few moments of the game. Nicchaeaus Doaks is slowly making a name for himself as a dominant inside presence and wiped the glass clean for 13 big boards to join his 15 from the floor. Coach Calipari will try and keep the spirits high for an inevitable match up with USC in the second round. Thanks for joining me for game 1 of our afternoon double header from fabulous San Juan. | The Big bully Nicchaeaus Doaks is the first to foul out of the action, and takes a well deserved seat with 15 points and 14 boards. He is 3 inches shorter than the men guarding the paint for the Tigers, so his already impressive numbers carry that much more weight. Another three pointer from McDowell, but even with 25 points the Tigers don't look scared. 81-69 El Tigres taking it home. |

| McDowell continues to hold the hot hand for Chattanooga and cuts into the lead with his 6th 3 of the night. His 22 points pace the Mocs and after Patterson pulls a carbon copy on the ensuing trip up the floor, it's suddenly an 11 point game with Memphis back on their heels. 77-66 'Nooga not backing down one bit. |

| Great defense from the super frosh Wesley Witherspoon and the big bodied point guard has a bright future ahead in Calipari's offense. A right on time delivery to Dozier and he nets 3 more to give him 18 on the game. United States citizens don't need passports to travel to the Island of Enchantment, but I still don't see too many American faces in the sparse crowd. |

| Sheard drills the NBA range three pointer and the Mocs have a little more fight left in them. Dan Shulman has his boys in top shape, but up to now, Memphis has more talent with half their second team on the floor. Time is certainly not on their side and the Mocs are lucky Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts have moved on to the NBA. They have a slim chance with a couple of sharp shooters, but will need a little help from the suddenly overconfident Tigers. |
