| The game ends with North Carolina cruising to a 76-61 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers but the score does not reflect the way the Tarheels dominated the second half. They outscore the Cavaliers 20-9 early in the second half on their way to the win. With the win, the Tarheels are tied with Duke with a 7-2 record. More importantly, this sets up a first-place showdown between two of the best teams in college basketball on Tobacco Road as North Carolina and Duke will face off for the first time. |
