Postgame -
The 33-point setback is the worst loss the Cardinals have suffered under coach Rick Pitino. They allowed the Irish to shoot 53.8 percent from the floor, go 10-for-18 from 3-point range, and win the rebounding battle by 20. They failed to stop Harangody throughout the game, allowing the junior center to put up 32 points, 17 rebounds, and four assists.
2nd Half - 0:00
This game could very well be the start of a run for Notre Dame. They take on 8-15 South Florida next on Sunday and won't face a top opponent until Feb. 28 at Connecticut. The final buzzer sounds at Joyce Center, signaling the Fighting Irish's 90-57 win over the Louisville Cardinals.
2nd Half - 2:36
Everything is going right for the Irish now. Harangody's pass to Ayers gets tipped high in the air and finds its way into the basket. McAlarney attempts a three from the corner that brushes off the glass and through the net. That pretty much explains how dominating Notre Dame has been tonight and how easy they've looked doing it.
2nd Half - 4:44
McAlarney hits another open-look 3-point jumper, giving him 18 points on the night. He's combined with Harangody, Ayers, and Tory Jackson for 75 of Notre Dame's 79 points.
2nd Half - 6:59
Fearful that a game like this won't come around again any time soon, Notre Dame just isn't letting up. They're putting on an old-fashioned ass-whupping, now in front by 32 after Harangody goes up for a layup and the foul. Since the break, the teams is shooting over 60 percent from the field and is 5-for-6 from 3-point range.
