The Sun Devils complete the sweep of UCLA for the first time in six seasons. James Harden was the obviously star, going 5-8 from the field for 15 points and 11 assists. Their strong three-point shooting (11-18) put Arizona State in the position to take this game on their home court. Josh Shipp did all he could in the first half, scoring 12, but added only four more in the 2nd half. A couple key plays, and a horrible technical foul by Aboya put the Bruins in too deep of a hole to crawl out of. They will both make it to the tournament, but this was a tough loss for the #6 ranked Bruins.
2nd - 0:18
An ally-op to Jeff Pendergraph from Derek Glasser puts the Sun Devils on their way to winning this game. The UCLA defense completely fell apart on that one, leaving Pendergraph a wide-open spot under the basket.
2nd - 0:36
Collison is called with a huge offensive foul on a drive to the basket that looked like a clear lane to the rim. Arizona State takes over on the sideline, and Aboya knocks the ball out of Glasser's hand, causing the technical foul. That's a huge error by Aboya, as it put Arizona State up by four with only seconds remaining.
2nd - 0:55
The Arizona State defense is coming up big as the clock nears zero. They forced a shot-clock violation, which is hard to due in the college game. Glasser comes right back and hits a three for Arizona State, putting them up by two.
2nd - 3:28
The Sun Devils are hoping for another late collapse by UCLA. In their last meeting, Arizona State scored the last 11 points of regulation to take it to overtime, eventually winning the game. These two teams are neck and neck right now, which should give us a very entertaining, tournament-like finish.
