A nice win on the road for Purdue who had a pesky injured Hawkeye team biting at their heels. Iowa did well to regain the lead at 41-39 but the Boilermakers regrouped and reasserted their defense to get the victory. Moore led the Hawkeyes with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kelly scored 19 points and grabbed 5 boards for the Hawkeyes. The final here is Purdue 49 and Iowa 45.
2nd - 2:51
Both teams have combined for 5-32 from 3 point range which is pathetic. The game has turned into a sea saw battle with each position having its own drama. Iowa should continue to go to Kelly or Cole who have combined for 30 points.
2nd - 5:52
What a great feed from Moore to Kramer on the fast break for Purdue. Iowa had finally taken the lead off of a nice penetration move by Kelly, but Purdue came right back to tie it. The big men of Purdue are blocking everything that is coming in on the inside.
2nd - 8:39
Purdue has now committed 7 team fouls to only 1 for Iowa. Free throw shooting should play a huge factor down the stretch in this one. The game is now tied at 37 with the Iowa defense doing well to deny the inside bucket.
2nd - 11:53
What great hussel from Kramer and Gatens to hussel for the ball all the way down the court. Iowa gets the ball down only a basket with the momentum swinging their way. Hummel needs to get things going on the offensive end.
