Jayhawks Stall Sooners -
The young Jayhawks continue to surprise their many doubters and we be anxiously awaiting the apparent rematch in the Big 12 title game. Tyshaun Taylor came through as the second half of the freshman monster with 26 of his own. The Sooners fans hadn't gone home unhappy in 19 games, but tonight was the Jayhawks night and they will try and take the momentum back home for their next game against Mizzou. Thanks for joining me for another excting installment of NCAA hard court action and keep coming back for more. March Madness only a few weeks away. Don't miss a minute!!
Jayhawks Stall Sooners -
The Sooners won the recruiting war for Fast Willie Warren, and the 6'4" freshman makes everybody know why he was such a hot commodity last year. With Blake Griffin sidelined with a possibly dangerous concussion, Warren splashed in 23, but it wasn't enough in the end. Kansas erased a big first half lead and came all the way back to take charge. Sherron Collins waited to make his move and scored most of his game and season high 30 points in the last ten minutes of the game. Cole Aldrich made it even more evident of the hole caused by Griffin, tying a school record with 21 off the glass.
2nd Half - :00
Aldrich can add his 3rd block to his 15 points and a career high 21 off the glass. His total is more than three times the high man for the Sooners and nobody was happier to see Big Griffin out of the lineup. Aldrich ties former Jayhawk Nick Collison with the lucky 21 and to make more of a moment, the current Thunder forward is sitting proudly on the sidelines. Davis joins Warren with his 4th from long range, but too little too late and the Sooners will watch their 19 game home win streak come to an abrupt end. Final Score from Norman: Your Oklahoma Sooners 78 - Kansas Jayhawks 87 for the huge road win.
2nd Half - :45
As long as Blake Griffin returns to form, Oklahoma will be able to shake off this loss and continue to surge ahead into March Madness as a number one seed. The crowded house finally starts to thin out as Willie Warren gets his final round of applause. Coach Capel can't be too unhappy with his teams valiant effort, almost erasing a 20 point second half hole, if not for way too much Tyshaun Taylor.
2nd Half - 1:01
16 assists on 24 made baskets for Kansas, but Collins needs no help with his second 28 footer in a row!! Who shoots from that far away from the bucket?? All 5 of his second half field goals have been from behind the arc. Pattillo hangs his head in shame, after getting denied by the front of the rim!! 78-71 with Taylor back at the line. He needs the back half to reach a new career high, but will have to wait until his next open look at the rim. Taylor hangs in the air and gets what he came for with 25 on the night. Aldrich now has 18 rebounds and the Jayhawks have a 7 point lead.
