| Dayton came within 5 points during some stretches of the 2nd Half as Xavier started the 2nd half cold. But Brad Redford had a pair of treys and B.J. Raymond shot 3-for-4 after starting 1-for-11 to seal the deal for the Musketeers. It was also a personal achievement as he passed 1,000 points during that stretch. The Musketeers can call themselves champions of the Atlantic 10. While Chris Wright made a few highlight-worthy dunks, there was nothing coming from Dayton's big men. It was a defensive battle with turnovers, blocks, and steals. Xavier just had that little extra with Raymond heating up, Redford and Jackson owning the three-point line and a few inside plays from McLean and Frease. |

| Xavier goes with a 3-2 zone and it forces a steal. Dayton has not shot the ball well so pressuring the drive is smart. After the steal, Xavier gets more offensive rebounds this one with Derrick Brown with enough hand power for a one handed the spike to get the crowd going. Brown gets on the other end and blocks Chris Johnson to get the Muskies the ball back. |

| Bad break for Charles Little. He gets into the paint and breezes past Frease who doesn't want to foul him. He's got two hands above the rim but no dunk to show for it. Ouch. Raymond gets the ball and sees defense along the perimeter so he goes in and converts a difficult layup. Dayton is getting their points by beating defenders on the dribble. |

| Looks like B.J. Raymond finds his touch with a difficult make from a distance. Raymond hits a three and then pulls the trigger again in transition. Both treys now give him 1,004 career points. Quick release on the ball and a good job of setting his feet and measuring his space before the release. Raymond averages 2 treys per game. He's got both in a matter of two consecutive possessions. |

| Jason Love sends back a layup attempt by Thomas. 10 blocks for Xavier today. They get a turnover and B.J. Raymond hits a tough floated. Raymond has not shot well at all but to be honest all of his shots have been difficult looks. There's nothing wrong with a floater on the fast break. Meanwhile, Marcus Johnson goes on a 5-0 run with a menacing dunk through the paint. The guy's vertical leap is unbelievable. The lead has been cut to 6. Give the assist to London Warren. While Xavier has been scoring on the break, the transition game benefits the Flyers. |
