Cats Flatten Friars -
Scottie Reynolds decided to go out with another bang, dropping in a team high 23 and 4 helping hands as well. Anderson and Cunningham combined for 38 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals in a supporting effort with the Nova Cats leading for 35 straight minutes of the game. Efejuku was a human wrecking ball with a game high 29 points, to overshadow his 3 boards and 4 assists. But even with a pair of double-digit rebounders, the season high 23 turnovers were far too much to overcome at the end.
2nd Half - :00
Unfortunately the Friars couldn't keep it close to save some face and the 35 minutes of close calls will be forgotten when it comes to securing an at-large bid. The Cats clinch the 25 wins, and the Seniors can celebrate being the most prolific winners in school history. Final Score: Providence Friars 80 - Your Villanova Wildcats 97 in the season sealing victory.
2nd Half - 1:01
A complete collapse down the stretch for the Friars and the lopsided final score isn't going to tell the proper story of their competitive effort on the court. Dante Cunningham gets his final round of applause here at The Pavilion and the impressive streak of success continues to 28 straight here at home. Fan favorite Frank Tchuisi gets to pocket two at the line, as Anderson also takes his final bow before the hometown crowd.
2nd Half - 2:15
Already 6 turnovers over their season average of 14, and the Friars will certainly look back at their shoddy ball handling down the stretch. As soon as they seem to have something going in the right direction, Nova steps into the passing lane and it's a quick Xavier two on the other end. 90-75, Cats fending off the Friars.
2nd Half - 2:47
Jonathan Kale is a repugnant 52% from the foul line on the season, but has answered the call today sinking 6-8 on the game. 12 points to join his 9th rebound, but it's Cunningham gunning back for the high rising jump shot over his man. Still a steep climb against the diligent Villanova squad, less than 2 minutes and still a 10 point divide.
