Postgame -
No team will ever win a game in the tournament shooting 22% from the field. That number is actually inflated a little because Dayton got some buckets at the end in garbage time. As for the team that actually won the game, teams in the Midwest Region should take notice to how well Kansas is playing especially their 2 best players Collins who finished with 25 and Aldrich who had the triple-double. Kansas head to Indy and either have a rematch against Michigan State or taken on USC.
2nd Half - 2:28
It is safe to say that this game is over. Aldrich brings down an offensive rebound and it his 20th overall. Kansas will just sit with the ball at the mid-court line and run the clock down. It looks like Dayton will have to be happy with their one win in the tourney this year.
2nd Half - 5:53
Cole Aldrich with is last block is now the proud owner of the first triple double in the NCAA tournament since Dwayne Wade did it for Marquette in the Elite 8 in 2003. Everyone always says that guard play is what wins in March but if your center is recording triple doubles I promise you will win a lot of tournament games as well.
2nd Half - 7:29
Cole Aldrich is 2 blocks away from having a triple double. His defense today is a huge reason why Kansas finds themselves in the position they're in or better yet why Dayton finds themselves in the position they're in. He hasn't let a single shot go up without trying to get a piece of it. In addition to all of the shots he's blocked, he has caused the Flyers to throw some bad ones.
2nd Half - 9:44
What is really unbelievable is even with the really tough defense that Kansas is playing in the paint they have only committed 9 team fouls for the entire game. There has been very few times that Dayton has gotten the ball down low where there hasn't been a hand in their face. You are obviously playing some ferocious defense if your opponent is shooting 18% more than 30 minutes into the game.
