LOS ANGELES -- Ronny Turiaf wasn't about to let Gonzaga get off to a slow start in the second half Saturday night.
Turiaf scored 27 points and the 16th-ranked Bulldogs shot 71 percent after halftime in a 74-60 victory over Loyola Marymount.
"We let them off the hook in the first half and didn't want that happening again," Turiaf said.
Turiaf hit five of six field-goal attempts in the second half as Gonzaga (12-2, 2-0 West Coast Conference) made 17 of its 24 shots to break open a game that was tied at halftime.
Gonzaga shot 60 percent for the game, while holding Loyola Marymount to 37 percent.
The last time the teams met, Loyola Marymount (8-5, 0-1) handed Gonzaga one of its two conference losses of the 2002-03 season.
That ended Gonzaga's 16-game winning streak against LMU, going back seven seasons.
"Believe me, we talked about that at halftime tonight," Gonzaga coach Mark Few said.
Gonzaga's only two losses this season have come against No. 4 Stanford and No. 9 St. Joseph's, who are both unbeaten.
Blake Stepp added 17 points for Gonzaga, including 10 in the second half. Turiaf had eight rebounds.
Sherman Gay finished with 18 points to lead LMU. Keith Kincade had 17.
Loyola Marymount freshman Damian Martin made a layup in the final second of the first half to tie it at 32.
Gay scored the first nine points of a 13-4 run that lifted the Lions to a 13-12 lead after eight minutes.
Three field goals by Turiaf sparked a 14-2 run that gave Gonzaga a 30-20 lead. But starting with a 3-point basket by Kincade, LMU scored 12 of the final 14 points of the half.
