HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Loren Stokes scored 20 points and three other Hofstra players were in double figures as the Pride used a second-half surge to defeat Dartmouth 74-57 Friday night.
At 7-0, Hofstra is off to its best start since 1973-74, when the school made the jump to Division I.
The Pride led by three points, 36-33, at halftime. With 12:45 to play, Dartmouth (3-4) closed the gap to 44-43 on a pair of Mike McLaren free throws.
In the next four minutes, Hofstra put together a 16-4 run as a jumper by Mike Radziejewski made it 60-47. Dartmouth was held to eight points in the final eight minutes.
Also in double figures for the Pride were Antoine Agudio with 15 points, Radziejewski with 14 and Adrian Uter with 10. Hofstra shot a season-high 55.4 percent from the floor.
Dartmouth was led by McLaren with 18 points, including four 3-point baskets.
