BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) -- Tim Jennings scored 28 points Thursday to lead Gardner-Webb to an 82-68 win over Stetson.
The Bulldogs (10-6, 7-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) used strong runs at the end of each half to pull away from Stetson (6-10, 4-5 Atlantic Sun Conference).
Gardner-Webb trailed 29-25 with to 5:58 to play in the first half, then had a 14-1 run to lead 39-30 at halftime.
The Hatters trimmed the lead to 11 points in the second half, but did not make their first field goal until the 14:58 mark.
Jennings sparked a 15-5 run for Gardner-Webb that gave the Bulldogs an 82-64 edge with 27 seconds to play. He made 4-of-4 free throws and added a high-flying dunk in the spurt.
Bender added 15 points for Gardner-Webb, and Simon Conn added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
E.J. Gordon and Borislav Djordjic paced Stetson with 17 points apiece, with Djordjic adding 11 rebounds.
