DURHAM, N.H. -- Andre Heard had 16 points and Alex Adediran added 13 more, 9 in the second half, to lead Binghamton past New Hampshire 62-54 on Sunday.
Ben Sturgill led New Hampshire (7-16, 3-11 America East) with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Binghamton (9-14, 6-8) took a 20-3 lead as the Wildcats missed their first six shots and turned the ball over six times in the first five minutes. Trailing 25-8 with 7:46 left in the first period, New Hampshire responded with a 17-4 run.
Binghamton had just three field goals over the final 7:45. Their lead dwindled to 33-27 at halftime.
New Hampshire trailed just 52-47 with 4:18 to play before Adediran was fouled. He made both free throws and a layup to open the lead to 56-47. The Bearcats, winners of four straight, then made 4-of-4 free throws.
"It was a good game for us," Binghamton coach Al Walker said. "I was real pleased with the way we passed the ball and played defense."
Troy Hailey had 10 points for the Bearcats. Chris Vetrano had 11 points for the Wildcats.
