ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Omar Collington scored 17 points and reserve Joey Harrell added a career-high 14 to lead N.C.-Asheville to a 68-59 victory over Birmingham-Southern on Monday night.
Steven Rush added 10 points for the Bulldogs (10-14, 7-6 Big South), who never trailed.
Jakob Sigurdarson led Birmingham-Southern (12-12, 5-8) with 15 points, while Bucky McMillan added 12 and Augustinas Vitas had 10 points and nine rebounds.
N.C.-Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach missed the game because of the stomach flu and was replaced by associate head coach Thomas Nash.
The Panthers trailed 36-26 at halftime, but cut the lead to 57-52 after Sigurdarson made two free throws with 1:09 left. Harrell added two free throws and Collington had a three-point play on the next possession to push the game out of reach.
